ConocoPhillips involvement in Malaysia began in 2000 and consists of interests in four blocks in varying stages of exploration, development and production. Three of these blocks are located off the eastern Malaysian state of Sabah: Block G, Block J, and the Kebabangan (KBB) Cluster. These three blocks include seven discovered fields. The fourth block, Deepwater Block 3E, is operated by ConocoPhillips and is located offshore Sarawak.
ConocoPhillips is seeking suitably qualified professionals to join its team as:
GEOSCIENTIST
Location: Kuala Lumpur
The Job:
* Responsible for the subsurface evaluation of ConocoPhillips operated blocks.
* integrated G&G interpretation will be a key element of this position.
* Provide technical leadership to the block participants as operator representative.
* Work with the Exploration Manager to coordinate implementation of work program commitment.
* Provide recommendations on appraisal and exploration well planning.
Requirements:
* Minimum Degree in Geosciences, equivalent or higher. MSc in Petroleum Geology is preferred
* Minimum 10 years of experience as a Geoscientist with a major oil & gas company, preferably with exploration/ new ventures experience.
* Experience working as geoscience interpreter in South-east Asia basins.
* Appraisal and field development experience.
* Competency in geoscience and seismic interpretation software (preferably in Landmark, Petrel, Geox)
G&G OPERATIONS COORDINATOR
Location: Kuala Lumpur
The Job:
* Coordinate geologic operations related to the drilling of wells, including well planning, contract support, manpower selection, data collection, HSE and geologic evaluation
* Work with the HSE, Subsurface, Drilling & Procurement functions to coordinate, plan and implement a number of wells on ConocoPhillips Operated Blocks.
* Support G&G evaluations and key interface for collection of data and trading of data with nearby block operators.
* Coordinate external technical services in support of G&G activities.
* Coordinate seismic operations for ConocoPhillips Operated Blocks including program planning, manpower resources, HSE and contract support.
Requirements:
* Minimum Degree in Geosciences, equivalent or higher. MSc in Petroleum Geology is preferred.
* Minimum 7 years of experience in well site and offshore geological operations.
* Experience as a shore based Operations Geologist for an operating oil company is preferred.
* Wide knowledge of LWD and wireline logging technologies and applications.
SENIOR DRILLING ENGINEER (2 VACANCIES)
Location: Kuala Lumpur
The Job:
* Responsible for engineering, planning and regulatory permit aspects of all drilling related operations.
* Prepare accurate cost estimates, budgets and AFEs.
* Ensure that the wells are drilled in a safe, innovative, cost effective, and environmentally responsible manner.
* Ensure that well operations are documented in a timely/accurate fashion and that lessons learned are incorporated rapidly into subsequent operations.
* Interface with the HSE Department and provide necessary input for the preparation of regulatory/permit documents.
* Able to take an active part in performing risk assessments, third-party contractor audits, after action reviews and lessons learned sessions.
Requirements:
* Minimum Degree in Engineering, equivalent or higher
* Minimum 10 years of experience in drilling operations/engineering .
* Familiarity with engineering software e.g Landmark.
* Must be able to pass and maintain offshore medical & safety training requirement.
* Good communication and presentation skills with the ability to work in a term environment.
