Ballapur Industries Limited (BILT) is India’s largest manufacturer of writing and printing paper. Its subsidiaries include Sabah Forest Industries Sdn Bhd (SFI). SFI is Malaysia’s largest integrated pulp and paper manufacturer. Its pulp mill has a capacity to produce 240,000 bone dry tonnes of pulp per year, half of which is manufactured into writing and printing paper for domestic and international markets and the other half is exported as market pulp. It also manages a forest estate totaling 288,000 hectares of industrial tree plantation (ITP) and natural forest management (NFM). BILT is the majority owner of SFI which in turn is part of Avantha Group.

CURRENT VACANCIES

1. PRODUCTION HEAD - (1 POSITION)
Areas of Responsibility;
* Manage overall operations and profitability of the Pulp and Paper Division to annual budgeted target by performing role of coordinator for various departments that involve in the pulp and paper production.
* Responsible for the operations and profitability of the pulp and paper mill as a strategic business
unit including production, quality control and materials inventory.
* Provide direction and leadership in the operation of the mill.
* Manage, direct and coordinate overall pulp and paper operation and quality of finished products.
* Ensure set standard matching similar world class mill performance in all areas of pulp and paper
production.
* Prepare annual operation budget for production expenditure, mill upgrade investment and profitability.
* Formulate and implement operating policies and programmes to guide the company in maintaining and improving its competitive edge and thus profitability of the operation.
* Develop specific short and long term plan for business expansion and growth.
* Manages human and material resources to ensure production targets are met through maximum
resource utilization.
* To develop a well knit and competitive team.
* Prepare required capital expenditure for mill continuous operation and execute CAPEX timely
and within approved budget.
* To implement and compliance with company policies and other statutory bodies regulations with
special attention to administration, safety, health and environmental policies.
* To ensure good pulp and paper production planning and control of resources, materials and
inventory when executing the planning.
* To plan, organize, coordinate, manage and maintain sufficient manpower to ensure no production
interruption.
* To ensure all production processing activities meet ISO standard and requirements.
* Represent the Company at regulatory meetings, actions or hearings pertaining to his areas of
responsibility.
* Responsible for the plant uptime and available at site during downtime and plant start up after
rectification/maintenance work.

Requirement;
* Minimum 15 - 20 years working experience in manufacturing/industrial processing activity, preferably in pulp and paper making industry and the last 5 -10 years in managerial position.
* Graduate in engineering field.
* Strong leadership with ability to develop a team.
* Result orientated and firm decision maker.
* Ability to communicate with all level of employees.
* Conversant with ISO standard procedures and guidelines.

2. CHIEF ENGINEER - (1 POSITION)

Areas of Responsibility;
* Manage, coordinate and control mill maintenance activities of pulp and paper mill equipments and
machineries, inclusive of rotating and non rotating equipments, including improvement activities to
meet production target, minimize downtime, reduce maintenance cost and optimize equipments
and machineries utilization.
* Prepare required capital expenditure for mill maintenance activities inclusive of predictive, preventive and corrective maintenance and execute CAPEX timely and within approved budget.
* To implement and compliance with company policies and other statutory bodies regulations with
special attention to administration, safety, health and environmental policies.
* Scheduling, planning, coordinating and timely executing all planned maintenance activities within
the scheduled time frame.
* Produce monthly maintenance activities report inclusive of maintenance cost incurred.
* Produce daily vibration report to ensure all equipments and machineries are in good working
condition at all times.
* Keep and produce monthly equipments and machineries calibration report.
* Develop and maintain skilled maintenance team.
* To plan, organize, coordinate, manage and maintain sufficient maintenance manpower to ensure
no production interruption.
* Ensure maintenance works meet and match standard as specified and regulated by the statutory
bodies.
* Formulate and implement maintenance policies and activities to guide the company in maintaining
and improving its competitive edge and thus profitability of the operation.
* To ensure all maintenance activities meet ISO standard and requirements.
* Represent the Company at regulatory meetings, actions or hearings pertaining to his areas of
responsibility.
* Responsible for the plant uptime and available at site during downtime and plant start up after

Requirement;

3. MANAGER - POWER PLANT MAINTENANCE - (1 POSITION)

Areas of Responsibility;
* Scheduling, planning, coordinating and timely executing all planned maintenance activities inclusive of predictive, preventive and corrective works within the scheduled time frame and approved budget.
* Compliance with company policies and other statutory bodies regulations with special attention administration, safety, health and environmental policies.
* Analyse equipments and machineries breakdown and propose rectification works that reduce
downtime, cost effective and maximize uptime.
* Prepare and record monthly maintenance activities report inclusive of maintenance cost incurred
* Prepare daily vibration report to ensure all equipments and machineries are in good working
condition at all times.
* Keep and prepare monthly equipments and machineries calibration report.
* Train and mentor skilled maintenance team.
* To plan, organize, coordinate, manage and maintain sufficient maintenance manpower to ensure
minimum downtime and maximize uptime.
* Carry out maintenance works that meet and match standard as specified and regulated by the
statutory bodies.
* To ensure all maintenance activities meet ISO standard and requirements.
* Ensure availability of critical spare parts

Requirement;
* Minimum 15 - 20 years working experience in manufacturing/industrial maintenance activity
preferably in pulp and paper making industry and the last 5 -10 years in managerial position.
* Graduate in engineering field.
* Strong leadership with ability to develop a team.
* Result orientated and firm decision maker.
* Ability to communicate with all level of employees.
* Conversant with ISO standard procedures and guidelines.

4. PULP MILL EXECUTIVE - (1 POSITION)

Areas of Responsibility;
* Execute, supervise, and monitor day to day operation of pulp mill which include digester, browr
stock and bleaching plants.
* To prepare schedule, plan, coordinate and timely execute planned production processing withir
the scheduled time frame and budget.
* To prepare acquisition and consumption of consumables and ensure it is sufficient to maintair
continuous production.
* Ensure set standard matching similar world class mill performance in pulp production.
* To comply with company policies and other statutory bodies regulations with special attention tc
administration, safety, health and environmental policies.
* To assist coordination between pulp processing and equipments maintenance to ensure productior
is not disrupted.
* To prepare daily and monthly production report.
* To ensure pulp production processing activities meet and comply with ISO standard and requirements
* To report to his superior on abnormalities of equipments and machineries and production line
and to coordinate and ensure rectification work is carried out as per specified requirements anc
standard.

Requirement;
* Minimum 5 - 10 years working experience in manufacturing/industrial processing activity, preferable in pulp or paper making industry and the last 5 years in managerial position.
* Graduate in Chemical Engineering / Industrial Engineering / Applied Science Engineering Chemicals.
* Strong leadership with ability to develop a team.
* Result orientated and firm decision maker.
* Ability to communicate with all level of employees.
* Conversant with ISO standard procedures and guidelines.

5. LEGAL MANAGER - (1 POSITION)

Areas of Responsibility;
* Provide in-house legal opinion and advice on matters relating to legal and points of law, whicl
include drafting and reviewing contracts and agreements and liaising with Company’s appointee
lawyers and government authorities as well as highlighting the Company risk, exposures involved
breaches and non-compliance under all applicable and relevant statutes, enactments, regulations
and guidelines as prescribed by the authorities.
Represent the Company at regulatory meetings, actions or hearings pertaining to the Company’s
related legal issues.
* Provide in-house legal advice to safeguard and protect the Company’s interest in all legal matters
and ensure the Company complies with relevant statutes, enactments, regulations and guidelines
as prescribed by the authorities.
* Drafting, vetting and reviewing all contracts and agreements.
* Represent the Company during opening of tender documents.
* Represent the Company and provide in-house legal opinion during dispute with employees
including negotiation with employees for union recognition, negotiation with union on collective
bargaining, employees’ disciplinary issues, etc.
* Handle all litigation and legal proceedings for SFI.
* Scheduling, planning, coordinating and timely executing all planned litigation and legal proceedings within the scheduled time frame and approved budget.
* Prepare monthly report in respect of legal proceedings against SFI.
* Authorised to check and execute affidavits in judicial proceedings before Commissioner of Oath.

Requirement;
* Minimum 10 - 15 years working experience in manufacturing/industrial processing activity
preferably in pulp or paper making industry and the last 5 years in managerial position.
* Graduate in Law
* Result orientated and firm decision maker.
* Ability to communicate with all level of employees.
* Conversant with ISO standard procedures and guidelines.
